Ok ladies , here is the thread for you to write down your reviews on various health and beauty products.
I'll start shall I
Ok Ive tried various foundation to wear for special occasions, parties ect, but none seem to match my skin tone, either im too light or too dark. Also the texture never seems to be right and My face feels caked.
However I have come across the best.
MAC Foundation Studio Fix Fluid SPF15
Slightly pricey BUT it lasts sooooo long, a little goes a long way.
So if you look at it that way compared to others, in the long run it cheaper. Esp if ur someone like me who doesn't use it every day it can last for ages.
It costs between £20 to £30 depending on where you buy it from but on the mac website its going for £19.00 for 30ml
The coverage is fantastic esp for anyone who has under eye circles or any blemishes. When applied its gives off even tones and feels like you are wearing nothing. Does not feel heavy or look cakey. To get your perfect colour just go to your nearest MAC store and ask for a free test. Another thing i like about it is the Matt finish, most foundations used to make me look like a piece of tinsel all shiny This doesn't, it looks very natural.
Ok now ladies your turn... |

Prescriptive Custom Blend Make Up.
I had the same problem Kay with finding a foundation to match my skin tone. My friend told me about Prescriptives and I am now a biggg fan of thier Foundation and Concealer. They are all mixed up in front of you to match your exact skin tone and colour. It is fab. The blends make your skin look flawless.
On the skin it tones down the redness, counter balances the yellow tones and covers up everything that needs to be covered up.
It will survive on your face for the whole day and still look imaculate.
Not that expensive either. The concealer is £23 and the foundation is about £30. Its avaliable in Harrods.
They also do a whole range of custom make up like Lipgloss, Powder, Bronzer and Tinted Moisturisers. |

Great idea kay!
It's really hard to find the "perfect foundation", especailly for me as I have dark features but really light skin. Most of my teen years I was either over-bronzed and orange or going for that Giesha look.
I've found that mixing different products to ge the right tone for me is best. I hate that caked on feeling, but I equally hate that see through coverage as I have freckles. I use L'Oreal Infallable 16 hour foundation, which if you apply on it's own makes you feel like you've put a mud mask on. I mix it up with a bit of Revlon Skin Lights illuminator, which keeps the foundations thick consistency, but also has light reflecting particles to give it a more natural look. Plus it takes away all of the cakiness of the L'Oreal. Trust me girls, I still looked fab after a wedding this summer with no air con and lots of dancing!
I don't think it's all that expensive as well. teh L'Oreal is about £16 and the illuminator is £10. |

zahra thankyou and LOL at mud mask . Thats the same prob I have light skin n dark features. In the winter I go yellow/green with a red nose
Fatima I think I may have a little wonder in to harrods and see if they have my tone , it'd be nice to have more than one option.
ok another review.
My fav facial scrub
I have over the top extra bassela sensitive skin so no matter what soap or scrub Ive used b4 my face would come up in a rash I'm even allergic to most Johnson's products, yes even the baby oil This however (the sensitive skin rage one) was fine YAY lol.
Love the smell, love the way it leaves my skin feeling at the end. My face is not dry in the morning and it does what ever it says on the pack. Goes for about a fiver , less or more depending on where you shop. Superdrugs are doing a great deal at the mo, 99p for 30ml's
But I must admit I havn't tried a great deal of other scrubs bcz when I 1st tried it I loved it and didnt bother to look elsewhere. So if any body has any better suggestions I'm well up for hearing them |

I use this every day, not on all my face, just problem areas such as chin. It rubs in really well and u only have to use it sparingly, altho it looks like its gonna look like sludge when u apply it, it actually doesnt, its very powdery but not a bad way, infact u dont feel like you have it on at all...Another thing that is fab about this is that it comes in so many different tones for all skin types and you can almost definately find the one to suit your skin tone...Its only about a tenner max, less even in Superdrug and for everyday use its ideal....
All in all i'd rate it an 8... |

Ok so u know when ur using public toilets and u have to use that manky stuff they like to call soap to wash ur hands and your soft hands get ALL dry PLUUUUS its cooold which makes them worse, what do you do?!?!?! or if your a student like me and have to eat out a lot (mainly at chicken cottages and the likes ) and all you get to wash ur hands after is that moisture zapping lemon wipe! turns your hands in to dry horrid things, what do you do then?!?!
Not to worry ladies ( god I should work for QVC lol )
NIVEA Hand Nourishing Cream
Been using it for a while. I just keep it in my bag for those moments, as stated like the above arise lol. Its nice and small-ish and smells really nice. Very light on the hands. You dont get any of that greasy hands feeling after either. Not only that but after a while you'll see how soft your hands become. It's really inexpensive. Just one of those things I think you ladies should have along with your carmex or vasaline
now at superdrugs
WAS: £2.79
PRICE: £1.79 |

Garnier PureA Daily Treatment Moisturiser and Night Intensive Treatment Gel. They are meant to clear imperfections, refine pores and leave your skin feeling soft and lovely.
I've become totally addicted to these two products recently. My skin is is usually prone to a few spots due to my (sometimes) awful diet and my inability to follow a skin care routine. But recently, I've really tried to follow the whole exfoliate, cleanse, tone thing and it's working (I also use rose water as a toner, which is lovely too).
Anyway, after I've done the skin routine stuff at night I use the intensive treatment gel and in the morning I cleanse and use the moisturiser (which also doubles as an amazing primer too). It may seem like such a drag having to do all this stuff before bed, but believe me it's totally worth it when you don't need concealer or foundation to cover spots or redness. I've noticed a HUGE difference, my skin is clearer, no spots (yay) and my face just looks really dewy and healthy.
They cost about £4 each in Superdrug, but they usually have a '2 for £5.99' deal which makes both products a bargain. |
