I havent driven in morocco with RH cars but i have driven with normal ones every time i go there for holidays ...the big prob i find is dealing with corrupted police ..and my advicee is to stick to your ground but keep lot of a change at hand..as a last resort...

with regard to being on the right seat, i guess it ll be most tricky when you overtaking or trying to pull out. ..

Hope this help

My advice is plan your route, take regular breaks for you and the car, stick to the motorways, you'll pay but it's safer. When you do stop, stop where there are other people, not on your own. If you have kids, provide them with something to keep them occupied and not bored.

As has been said, driving on the different side is ok, just have to be more careful when overtaking. You're ok in France, but spanish drivers tend to be a bit more 'adventurous' with their driving.

Some people book the spanish ferry crossing in advance, we never have and have always booked when we gott there, but find out which route is best for you and the cost so you have the right amount. I always take a credit card just in case of any unforseen expenditure or losing our money.  Make sure you have a green card insurance for the car which applies in Maroc, most green cards will cover you for Europe.  You might want to consider AA  5 star europe which will only cover you in Europe and not in Maroc.  Travel insurance, Make sure you have an EHIC - european health insurance card - it's free.

Make a note of key numbers, ie passports (will be much easier to get temp travel docs in case of loss etc), travel insurance

sorry if I'm teaching grandma to suck eggs here

First and foremost, made du3a to Allah to make this trip easy on you and your companions. You can have all the insurance you want, you can prepare all you want, but if you forget to ask Allah, it might be hard. Only Allah can make things easy and smooth, so do ask him and inshaAllah your du3a will be accepted.

Re the insurances and safeguards I mentioned, this is just for rahat elbel.

Don't forget to enjoy the experience. France is just going to be one stretch of motorway after another, but the spanish countryside is more enjoyable.

the moroccan customs (douane) are much better than they have been in the past, so we're heading in the right direction.

Zinnia, ask away and we will help as much as we can

best crossing to France - given that you're from London, dover - calais would probably be your best bit, but please Londoners, correct me if I'm wrong.  Means a little more driving once on French soil, but it's a quick crossing.

Just trying to think back to the last time we went by car. We actually went via the Channel Tunnel which was very quick about 30-35 mins and was quite cheap. We caught the 10pm ish crossing. We took advantage of driving by night through France as it was a lot cooler and the roads were light on traffic. France should take you about 8 hours and Spain about 14 hours (I think from memory). But that's driving like the clappers but we always stopped for quite some time aswell and I helped out with the driving.

You can save yourself a lot of time and money by going to Santander or Bilbao
