There 2 posibilities
1- it could be ur broadband connection
2- ur Laptop
i1- i can't help u there
2- u need to clear ur temps etc...
if u are using vista or Win 7
then right click on C: go to properties and click on clean
in disk clean up click on all tabs then move to more options
then select second option by removing shadow copy (except one or two points)
first option is if you want to uninstall extra programs
click ok and restart ur laptop or simply log off and log back in.
EXTRA
once you do that
then go to explorer
click on usernames then (your username)------->
on the right handside
click on file options and view unhide all ok ok
then in your username
u ll see AppData click on that and look for local ........> temp folder hold control key and A and
delete all in it
come back an dlet us know if works
if u are using XP
Then follow the same thing except EXRTA simply look for temp and delete all in it

start type backup and restore
go to restore and restore your good working point. try to remember the last time it was ok.
Like Aziz said it must be some spyware hiding somewhere. i just had one yesterday which was hard to get rid .

Hello bidaoui2006 you are right!!!
But I think he needs to check the laptop for the viruses with updated definations if that found than there is nothing want to change in the OS. If the viruses spread in whole HDD then you need to format compulsory.
You have do two things that first take one updated antivirus and scan full HDD(Hidden + archive) after this scan process,
you have to restart your OS it will affect you HDD after boot.
after this you can see the result of the slow process if it is still same and also some files are missing then you must hagv to format HDD.
