So will you take it if it's offered to you?
It's out now and will be administered initially to the priority vulnerable groups and front line care workers by the end of October and presumably to the rest of the nation thereafter.
Everyone was crying out for the vaccine, now it's nearly here, I'm not so sure. Was it rushed through? is it completely safe? have they completely tested it? have they had time to assess the impact of any side effects.
I'm not completely reassured over these questions. It doesn't inspire confidence when a poll of key health proffessionals indicated that they wouldn't take it.
What do you think? |

| I prefer not to try it until we get proof that it is completely safe. and no one should use it until scientific approval come. By the way how did you come to know about it?? |

I had heard earlier in the week but it was also on the news
extracts from the above:
'Concerns have been raised about the safety of the vaccines given the speed of the approval process.
But the EMEA stressed that decades of experience with seasonal influenza vaccines indicate that adding a new strain in should not substantially affect safety'. -
'should not' they say
it also says
The EMEA added that with all medicines, adverse events may be detected once the vaccine is used in large numbers of people.
I guess as with all medicines we have to weigh up the risks of taking it as opposed to not taking it, Allah wa3lem |

Has any one had the jab or allowed their children to take it?
I'm still confused, read up on it but seems for every positive thing I read, I also come across negatives.
It's a horrible decision to take it when it's made on behalf of your kids. If you give it to them and something happens or if you don't allow them to have it and Allah yastir they contract the flu and suffer from complications which might have been avoided if they'd taken the jab

Mouna, it's a difficult one and you just don't know what to do for the best. I still haven't got my daughter vaccinated. She gets called up for the seasonal flu vaccine and so therefore was in the first category to be called up for the swine flu vaccine.
I know I'll beat myself up if Allah yastir jmi3 musilmin she was to contract it but equally so if she's fine, gets vaccinated and something happens as a result of taking it.
My sis sent me links to some articles on the vaccine which I'll find and post here.
Allah yahfad wlidatna ou safi.
Mouna, I'm also from Oujda, whereabouts in Oujda are you from if you don't mind me asking? |

Swine flu was hyped up by the government and now they are telling us not even as serious as first thought anyway. They just spend millions on tamiflu and over half it of that was manufactured hasn't ever been used.
Swine flu can really only ever be a real issue if you already have serious underlying medical problems.
If i had kids I wouldnt allow them to get the jab. |

Hello
Great post.Swine flu is the disease which is spreaded all over very much.Swine influenza virus is common throughout pig populations worldwide. Swiss pharmaceuticals company Novartis AG said Friday it has successfully produced a first batch of swine flu vaccine weeks ahead of expectations. |

Articles I mentioned before:
They're moth-balling the Pandemic line, and the cases are declining, Allah hathar salama
If i've taken the decision as an adult not to get vaccinated, that's a risk I have taken, but taking the risk either way on my kids' behalf is something else. On balance, I don't intend to give my kids the vaccine based on my thinking that I think it has been rushed through, they don't know the longterm effects if any or links to any other illnesses or conditions. If the majority of health professionals themselves (as has been reported) not taken the vaccine, that must say something. ou limkatba men 3end Allah swt hia litkoun bel vaccine wella blesh. |
