Tonight we are watching
'Red'

'Stone'
but then i might get hubby to start with watching 'Stone' first as it looks the less boring of the two and if i fall asleep during 'Red' it doesnt matter

i finally carved out from my routine a couple of hours over a couple of days and saw:
incendies ( i posted the link a couple of weeks ago )
genre: drama
laughs: none
sex: none
violence: extreme (occasionally)
language: french, arabic (subtitles in english)
some might say the plot is "far-fetched"-improbable but so is life
some would like to have more idea about the reasons for the war, but why should film-makers always have to start from "square one" and have to explain everything to people who haven't shown an interest in the subject/country before
this is not a date movie
this is not an action movie
good acting/good camera work
4 out of 5 stars

Recently watched "The Way Back" Inspired by a true story and based on the book "The Long Walk : a true story of a Trek to Freedom" by Slavomir Rawicz . It's about a group of seven prisoners who escaped from a Russian Gulag in Stalin- era Russia. They walked over 4,000 miles across some of the worlds most inhospitable terrain, from the Siberian Artic, to the Gobi Desert and crossing the Himalayas before arriving in India. Not all survived.
A good prospective on man's amazing capacity to triumph over seemingly impossible odds. A bit bleak at times particulary the start. But the cinematography was good. Actors Colin Farrell and Ed Harris not bad, directed by Peter Weir.
Good story with a happy ending for some.
I give it 4 stars.
I can only please one person a day, today is not your day ~ and tomorrow isn't looking good either.
