When Waking Up at Night:

Narrated Ubada Bin As-Samit that Allah's Messenger (PBUH) said:

Whomever wakes up at night and says:" La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah lahulmulku, wa lahul hamdu, wa huwa ala kulli shai'in qadir. Alhamdu lillahi, wa subhanallahi wa la ilaha illallahu, wallah akbir, wa la hawla wala quwata illa billah".

(none has the right to be worshipped but Allah (SWT). He is the only one who has no partners. His is the kingdom and all the praises are for Allah (SWT). All the glories are for Allah(SWT). And none has the right to be worshipped but Allah (SWT) and Allah(SWT) is the most Great and there is neither might nor power except with Allah (SWT)

and then says," Allahumma ighfir li"

(O Allah! Forgive me) or invokes Allah (SWT), he will be responded to and if he makes ablution and performs Salat (prayer), his Salat (prayer) will be accepted. [Reported by Bukhari]

Next du'a to learn is:

لا اله الا انت سبحانك اني كنت من الظالمين

“none has the right to be worshipped save You; glory be to You, far removed are You from any imperfection; I have been amongst the wrong-doers,”
None who is experiencing difficulty employs it except that Allah would relieve him of his difficulty.

Assalamu alaikum

The first Du'a to learn insha Allah is:

1)- Dua upon waking up

Al-hamdu Lillâhil ladhi ahyana ba’da ma amâtanâ wa ilayhin nushur.
All praise to Allah who gave us life after having given us death, and (our) final return is to Him. (Bukhari)

2)- Sayyidu Al-Istighfaar

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لا
إِلَهََ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِي

وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ، أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ، أَبُوْءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ وَأَبُوْءُ بِذَنْبِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي فَإِنَّهُ لا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوْبَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ

Al-Lahumma 'Anta Rabbī Lā 'Ilāha 'Illā 'Anta Khalaqtanī Wa 'Anā `Abduka Wa 'Anā `Alá `Ahdika Wa Wa`dika Mā Astaţa`tu 'A`ūdhu Bika Min Sharri Mā Şana`tu 'Abū'u Laka Bini`matika `Alayya Wa 'Abū'u Bidhanbī Fāghfir Lī Fa'innahu Lā Yaghfiru Adh-Dhunūba 'Illā 'Anta.

‘O Allah, You are my Lord, none has the right to be worshipped except You, You created me and I am Your servant and I abide to Your covenant and promise as best I can, I take refuge in You from the evil of which I have committed. I acknowledge Your favour upon me and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for verily none can forgive sin except You.’

1. رَبَّنَا ظَلَمۡنَآ أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمۡ تَغۡفِرۡ لَنَا وَتَرۡحَمۡنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلۡخَـٰسِرِينَ

Rabbanā Žalamnā Anfusanā Wa 'In Lam Taghfir Lanā Wa Tarĥamnā Lanakūnanna Mina l-Khāsirīn

Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If thou forgive us not and have not mercy on us, surely we are of the lost! (Qur'an 7:23)

رَّبِّ ٱغۡفِرۡ وَٱرۡحَمۡ وَأَنتَ خَيۡرُ ٱلرَّٲحِمِين

Rabbigh-fir Warĥam Wa Anta Khayrur-Rāĥimīn

My Lord! Forgive and have mercy, for Thou art Best of all who show mercy. (Qur'an 23:118)

َبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذۡنَآ إِن نَّسِينَآ أَوۡ أَخۡطَأۡنَا*ۚ رَبَّنَا وَلَا تَحۡمِلۡ عَلَيۡنَآ إِصۡرً۬ا كَمَا حَمَلۡتَهُ ۥ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِنَا*ۚ رَبَّنَا وَلَا تُحَمِّلۡنَا مَا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِۦ*ۖ وَٱعۡفُ عَنَّا وَٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَا وَٱرۡحَمۡنَآ*ۚ أَنتَ مَوۡلَٮٰنَا فَٱنصُرۡنَا عَلَى ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلۡڪَـٰفِرِين

Rabbanā Lā Tu'uākhidhnā 'In Nasīnā 'Aw 'Akhţa'nā Rabbanā Wa Lā Taĥmil `Alaynā 'Işran Kamā Ĥamaltahu `Alá l-Ladhīna Min Qablinā Rabbanā Wa Lā Tuĥammilnā Mā Lā Ţāqata Lanā Bihi Wa`fu `Annā Waghfir Lanā Warĥamnā 'Anta Mawlānā Fānşurnā `Alál-Qawmi l-Kāfirīn

Our Lord! Condemn us not if we forget, or miss the mark! Our Lord! Lay not on us such a burden as thou didst lay on those before us! Our Lord! Impose not on us that which we have not the strength to bear! Pardon us, absolve us and have mercy on us, Thou, our Protector, and give us victory over the disbelieving folk. (Qur'an 2:286)

رَبَّنَا ٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَإِسۡرَافَنَا فِىٓ أَمۡرِنَا وَثَبِّتۡ أَقۡدَامَنَا وَٱنصُرۡنَا عَلَى ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلۡڪَـٰفِرِين

Rabbanāgh-fir Lanā Dhunūbanā Wa 'Isrāfanā Fī Amrinā Wa Thabbit 'Aqdāmanā Wanşurnā `Alá l-Qawmi l-Kāfirīn

Our Lord! forgive us for our sins and wasted efforts, make our foothold sure, and give us victory over the disbelieving folk. (Qur'an 3:147)

رَبَّنَا فَٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَڪَفِّرۡ عَنَّا سَيِّـَٔاتِنَا وَتَوَفَّنَا مَعَ ٱلۡأَبۡرَارِ

Rabbanā Fāghfir Lanā Dhunūbanā Wa Kaffir `Annā Sayyi'ātinā Wa Tawaffanā Ma`al-'Abrār

Our Lord! Therefore forgive us our sins, and remit from us our evil deeds, and make us die the death of the righteous. (Qur'an 3:193)
